Annual or biennial, up to 30 cm tall, pale brown, pubescent, unbranched. Scales 6-12 mm long, lanceolate, distant. Spikes lax, few-flowered. Bracts 6-12 mm long, lanceolate, longer than calyx; bracteoles absent. Calyx ± 6 mm long, divided to the base posteriorly only, almost equally 5-toothed with teeth ± as long as the tube. Corolla 12-16 mm long, pale brown, softly pubescent, with broad tube and rounded lobes. Stamens inserted near the base of corolla-tube; filaments pubescent below or at the base; anthers minutely pilose.
Type: Kashmir, Tilail, 11000 ft., Clarke 30687 (K).
Distribution: Endemic to Kashmir.
