Valeriana jaeschkei var. jaeschkei
Plant 13-28 cm tall, glabrous to subglabrous. Rootstock with long and stout roots. Stem solitary or 2, nodes minutely pilose. Radical leaves few at fruiting time, broadly ovate-oblong or elliptic-oblong to suborbiculate, more often lyrately pinnatisect with 1-4 pairs of lateral lobes; lateral lobes oblong, obtuse. Cauline leaves similar but with longer lanceolate or linear-lanceolate segments; segments 1-5 pairs, sometimes slightly serrate. Flowers pinkish-white, in dichotomous corymbs. Upper bracts lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 1.5-2 mm long. Stigma (2)-3-fid. Achene sparsely to dense pilose, longer than the upper bracts, sometimes with reddish dots. Pappus segments 9-12.
Type locality: W. Himalaya, Lahul.
Distribution: Kashmir.
Usually found in rock crevices or screes from 2600-4600 m.
