Valerianella aucheri Boiss.Valerianella persica Boiss.
Plants 9-25 cm tall. Leaves 2-4 cm x 3-8 mm, linear to lanceolate, often toothed at the base. Bracts c. 2.5 mm long, ovate to lanceolate, pubescent. Calyx with 1 linear extension, horizontal, recurved, shorter than the achene, tip 2-3 toothed. Achene 3-8 mm long, ovate to oblong or urn shaped, glandular-pubescent, and hispid, anterior groove deep; sterile locule pair larger than the fertile.
Fl. Per.: April-May.
Type: (Persia) Azerbaijan, Khvoy, (LE).
Distribution: C. Asia, USSR, Syria, Turkey, Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
Often found as a weed in cultivated fields from 1000-1600 m.
