Plants 4-5 cm tall. Leaves 1.5-3 cm x 2.5-5 mm, linear to lanceolate. Bracts oblong to linear, ciliate. Corolla tube hispid. Calyx with 2-3 linear extensions, unequal, as long as or longer than the fruit. Achene 2.5-3 mm long, bigibbous at the base, sparsely papillose. Sterile locule pair reduced or lacking.
Fl. Per.: April-May.
Type: Persia, ‘prope Rishm et Jezd’ Bunge (LE).
Distribution: C. Asia, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Not common. Found in rocks or alkaline soil up to 1800 m.
