Leaf 4-11 x 3-10 cm, hirsute, the upper surface sometimes glabrous; petiole 1-2.5 cm long, hirsute; veins prominently hairy on lower leaf surface.

Neo-type: Nepal, 1821, Wallich Cat. no. 449/1, (K).
Distribution: Temperate Himalayan region (from Kashmir to Nepal) from c. 2000-2700 m.
Very common on rocks, in and around the Murree area, especially in the Galis. Usually gregarious. Leaves often become longer after flowering.
