Densely tufted herb; leaves in rosettes. Leaf c. 7 mm long, glandular, linear to oblong, apex sub-obtuse, recurved, flattened above, keeled below; pits 3-5(-7), on the upper leaf surface; anterior leaf portion ciliate. Flowers pink to purple, solitary, pedicel c. 3 mm long, glandular. Sepals c. 4 mm long, basally pie, solitary, pedicel c. 3 mm long, glandular. Sepals c. 4 mm long, basally adnate, ovate-oblong, glandular pubescent. Petals twice the length of sepals, margins undulate. Filaments c. 6 mm long.

The plant is very small in stature and is greyish-green in colour with dark green leaf tips; also bears some resemblance to S. ramulosa (see sp. dubia) but differs in flower colour.
Rare in Pakistan; found in the Kaghan and Kashmir areas from 2800-4500 m.
