Stoloniferous perennial; calms up to 1.5 m long or more, prostrate and rooting at the nodes below. Leaf-blades flat, 6-40 cm long, 4-8 mm wide. Racemes 4-10 cm long; internodes transversely articulated. Sessile spikelet narrowly elliptic-oblong or elliptic-lanceolate with a blunt, truncate callus; lower glume 4.5-7.5 mm long, obtuse to obscurely bidentate; upper glume acute, as long as the lower.
Type: East Sibiria, Desoulavy 2392 (LY).
Distribution: Pakistan (N.W.F.P.); East Sibiria, China and Japan.
