Erect herb, glandular hairy. Leaves cordate-ovate, 3-5 angled, 4-6 cm long, 5-7 cm broad. Flowers axillary, solitary or fascicled in the terminal branches. Bracts 10-12, linear. Calyx 5-lobed. Corolla pink, 2 times longer than calyx. Fruit globular; mericarps smooth, wingless.
Holotype: (B-W 12829!).
Distribution: India, Pakistan?, Burma, Ceylon and East Tropical Africa.
It has been recorded from Sind by Edgeworth (teste Masters, 1874). According to Burkill (1911) and Stewart (1972) it has also been reported from Sind by Stocks and from Lasbella, Baluchistan by Hughes-Buller. But I have not seen any specimen of this species from Pakistan.
