Impatiens meeboldii Hook. f. in Kew. Bull. no. 8.291. 1910. R.R. Stewart, l.c. 465.

Slender herb, 10-16 cm tall. Leaves few, alternate, opposite, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, 30-75 x 12-30 mm, membranous, serrate, teeth usually blackish (in dried specimens), uppermost subsessile, raphides present. Inflorescence subumbelled to shortly racemose. Peduncles 30-50 mm long, ± exceeding the foliage. Pedicels slender. Bracts 1-2.5 mm long, ovate-lanceolate. Flowers pink-white, raphides absent. Lateral sepals ovate, obtuse, c. 2.4 mm long; lower sepal infundibuliform, tapering into a straight spur, 9-10 mm long. Anterior petal orbicular, cuneate, 5 x 3.5-4 mm. Lateral united petals, 10-11 mm long, dissimilar; lower large, prolonged forward. Capsule clavate, 14-16 mm long, nodding. Seeds few, oblong, 2.5-3 mm long, glabrous.

Fl. Per.: May-July.

Type: Gurais, Kashmir, 2440 m, Meebold s.n. (K!).

Distribution: NW. Himalayas.

Resembling in facies Impatiens flemingii Hook. f., but differing in the nodding clavate capsules.
