Leaves green; palea of central spikelet 1-1.4 times as long as palea of lateral spikelets; anthers of central spikelet 0.7-1.4 mm long; prolongation of rhachilla of lateral spikelets slender, green; central spikelet with a pedicel not more than 0.6 mm long; lateral spikelets not longer than the central.

Distribution: Pakistan (Punjab & N.W.F.P.); Europe and Southwest Asia.

Not common in Pakistan, being at the eastern limit of its range. 1100-2300 m.
