Geranium tuberosum var. charlesii Aitch. & Hemsl.
Perennial up to 20 cm tall. Stem slender, ascending, branched. Basal leaves absent; cauline leaves 10-30 mm broad, ± orbicular, palmatipartite. Petals 8.5-12 mm long. Beak 11-12 mm long.
Fl. Per.: April-May.
Type locality: Afghanistan, Kambao Pass, Badghis, Aitchison 379 (K).
Distribution: Afghanistan, Pakistan, Pamir-S. Alaj.
Related to Geranium tuberaria, but differs from it as follows: smallar size (up to 20 cm), smaller petals (8.5-12 mm long) and beak (c. 12 mm). The leaves are less divided and the filaments are not dense long ciliate.
