A subglabrous perennial. Sepals 5-nerved. Mericarps with 2-3 transverse grooves at the top. Beak plumose on dehiscence.
Type: ‘Habitat in Egypt, Van Royen (L).
Distribution: N. Africa, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Arabia, Iran and Baluchistan.
Reported by Blatter from Sind and Makran (Baluchistan), but no specimens have been seen.
