Plant caespitose, c. 8 cm tall; stems many from the base, pale brown, hirsute. Leaves sessile to shortly petiolate, ovate to orbiculate, hirsute, 5-15 x 4-8 mm, lower surface densely hairy, margin subentire to denticulate, apex ± obtuse. Calyx segments 3-4 mm, triangular, acute; appendage c. 2 mm long. Corolla tubular-campanulate, c. 9 mm long, externally pubescent, lobes 2.5 mm long. Style exserted. Seeds ellipsoid.

Distribution: Afghanistan and Chitral.
Previously thought to be endemic to Afghanistan.
