A spiny diffuse shrub, 120-180 cm tall. Stem and branches glabrous to subglabrous, ash-gray. Leaves 5-20 x 2-7 mm, elliptic-oblong, obtuse or acute. Flowers white. Pedicel 3-6 mm long. Calyx tubular to ± infundibuliform, lobes 1-1.5 mm long, acute, minutely pubescent inside; corolla lobes 3 mm long, obtuse, minutely ciliate. Some filaments subexserted, glabrous at the base. Berry ± 3.5 mm broad, globose. Seeds c. 2.5 mm long, reniform, brownish.
