Related to Pseudomertensia moltkioides but easily distinguished by the larger leaves (50-130 x 10-35 mm), shorter corolla tube (about twice calyx length) and smaller anthers (about 1 mm long). Also closely related to Pseudomertensia racemosa (Royle) Kazmi (=Myosotis racemosa Benth.) which has white flowers and leaves that are subcordate at the base.

Type: Kashmir: In humidis nemorum ad Ouri, 4th May, 1831 Jacquemont s.n. (GH; P).
Distribution: Pakistan, Kashmir.
Found in the forest zone between 1900-3000 m.
