Barely differing from the type variety but with larger nutlets, longer pedicels and a calyx which is accrescent in fruit.

Mature fruiting material is desirable for proper identification, but I do not think that Paracaryum platycalyx is sufficently distinct from Paracaryum rugulosum to warrant specific status.
