Annual herb 20-30 cm tall. Stem and branches with stiff suberect hairs. Basal leaves linear-lanceolate, 10-30 x 2-3 mm, covered on both surfaces with appressed and subpatent hairs arising from a tuberculate base. Upper similar but smaller. Flowers sessile, pedicel in fruit c. 1.5 mm long. Calyx lobes c. 1-1.5 mm long, linear, upto 5 mm long. Corolla blue, 2-2.5 mm long, campanulate. Nutlets heteromorphic, one pair of opposite ones longer, 3-3.5 mm long and decurrent to the pedicel. Margin winged with glochidiate appendages 1-2 mm long; middle dorsal area striately beaded longitudinally, sometimes appendiculate. Smaller nutlet pair with few marginal appendages that are broader at the base. Dorsal middle area tuberculate to carinate or sometimes appendiculate. Style c. 0.5 mm long.

Distribution: Iran, Afghanistan, Turkestan, Pamir-Alaj, Pakistan.
Found in drier places from 1400-1700 m.
