24. Euphorbia aserbajdzhanica Bordz. in Vistn. Kiivsk. Bot. SSSR. 7-8: 19. 1928. Prokh. in Fl. URSS 14: 470. 1949; Rech. f. & Schiman-Czeika in Fl. Iran. 6: 20. 1964; Stewart, Ann. Cat. Vasc. Pl. W. Pak. & Kashm. 447. 1972 (‘azerbajdzhanica’).

  • Tithymalus pseudosororius Prokh.

Very similar to Euphorbia sororia, but differing primarily in having subinaequilateral leaves, smaller fruits with carinate cocci, ecornute glands and sessile or subsessile caruncles on the seeds.

Holotype: USSR, Nakhichevan ASSR, nr. Nakhichevan, 6 Jul. 1926, Bordzitowski s.n. (KW).

Distribution: Transcaucasia, Turkmenia, Afghanistan. 8200'/2500 m.

I have not seen the above collections. However, Rechinger 32180 at K from Euphorbia Afghanistan determined as this species is in fact referable to Euphorbia szovitsii Fisch. et Mey., and it may be that the above are also referable to that species, in which case Euphorbia szovitsii would have to be re-admitted to the Flora of Pakistan.
