Very like Euphorbia caeladenia, differing from it chiefly in having the stem-leaves orbicular-ovate, ovate, ovate-oblong or oblong-lanceolate, and in having smaller fruits (4.5 x 4.5 mm) and seeds (3 x 2 x 2 mm - excluding the caruncle). These differences may prove not to be significant, however.

Holotype: Iran, S. Kerman, Zahedan, between Zahedan & Khash, 15 May 1948, K.H. & F. Rechinger 4220, P. Aellen & E. Esfandiari (W); Isotype (K).

Distribution: Iran. In rock-cavities, on gravel-plains, in sandy soil and clay soil in wheatfields, etc. 3610'/1100 m. - 7000'/2134 m,.

This may prove to be best regarded as a form or variety of Euphorbia caeladenia.
