S. I. Ali & Brian Mathew

The taxa belonging to subgenus Scorpiris were placed in a separate genus Juno Tratt. by Rodionenko (The genus Iris, 1961) and Köhlein (Iris, English transl. 1987). However, the recent trend does not seem to favour this arrangement, B. Mathew & Wendelbo, l.c., B. Mathew (l.c. 1987) and B. Mathew (in SGBIS, l.c. 259. 1997) have placed the members of the genus Juno Tratt. under subg. Scorpiris Spach of the genus Iris.
