Flowering stems creeping, 0.5-3 dm. Leaves alternate; blade spatulate-elliptic to obovate, 1.5-3 cm, margins not glandular, obtusely crenate. Flowers: sepals linear to suboblong, 3-5 mm, apex obtuse; petals spreading, yellow, lanceolate, 8-10 mm, apex acute, minutely apiculate. Carpels divergent in fruit, connate basally.
Flowering summer. Rocky places, roadsides, fields, waste places; 0-1000 m; introduced; Alta., Man., Ont., Que.; nc Asia.
