Flowers: petals purplish, conspicuously fringed, adaxial surface with long dark or yellow hairs, apex rounded; anther apex rounded.
Flowering late spring--mid summer. Dry, often heavy or rocky soil, in chaparral; less than 700 m; Calif.
Calochortus weedii var. intermedius is restricted to Orange County.
