Leaves linear to broadly lanceolate, faces glabrous or moderately villous. Involucres: bases densely pilose, sometimes stipitate-glandular as well. 2n = 38, 57, 76, 95.
Flowering May–Sep. Alpine slopes and ridges to Arctic tundra; 0–1500 m; Greenland; Alta., B.C., Man., Nfld. and Labr., N.W.T., Nunavut, Ont., Que., Sask., Yukon; Alaska, Mont.; Europe; Asia.
