Leaf faces sparsely villosulous to glabrate. Peduncles finely villous (hairs spreading-crinkly), sometimes loosely strigose distally. Phyllaries: margins sometimes barely ciliate, abaxial faces sparsely hirsuto-villous to glabrate, essentially eglandular or sparsely minutely glandular. Ray corollas white.
Flowering Jun–Aug. Clearings in conifer woodlands, subalpine meadows, bogs; of conservation concern; 900–1800 m; Wash.
