Perennials, rhizomatous. Herbage tomentose to villous. Stems ascending, decumbent, or procumbent, to 60(–100) cm. Leaves not in rosettes; blade usually broadly to narrowly triangular, sometimes ± reniform, 30–60 × 30–90 mm, base lobed, lobes 1–3-pointed, margins not notably undulate, apex acuminate, acute, emarginate, or obtuse. Bracts usually immediately subtending sepals and lanceolate to broadly ovate, rarely to 7 mm distant from sepals and narrowly triangular to subreniform, (7–)10–18(–20) × (5–)7–14(–15) mm, lengths usually equal to or longer than sepals, margins entire, lobed, or toothed. Flowers: sepals 9–13(–15) mm, densely hairy; corolla white, (20–)26–38(–45) mm.
