Shrubs or trees, 2-10 m. Buds caprea-type. Leaves: stipules on late ones foliaceous; largest medial blade (sometimes amphistomatous), 2.5-6.5 times as long as wide, adaxial surface not glaucous. Staminate flowers: filaments glabrous. Pistillate flowers: adaxial nectary shorter than, equal to, or longer than stipe; stipe 0.6-0.8 mm; ovary glabrous; stigmas with flat, non-papillate abaxial surface and rounded tip, 0.4-0.7 mm.
Species 6 (1 in the flora): introduced; Europe.
