蓬萊葛屬
Trees or shrubs, sometimes scandent. Leaves opposite, entire, coriaceous, stipules connate into a cylindric sheath. Flowers in terminal, few- or many-flowered cymes; calyx small, funnel-shaped or campanulate; corolla tubular, lobes 4 or 5, valvate; stamens inserted on corolla tube, filaments short; ovary 2-celled, styles long or short, with 2 linear or clavate stigmas; ovules 1 in each cell, erect. Fruit a subglobose 2-celled berry; seeds compressed, with fleshy or horny endosperm.
About 30 species in tropical Asia and Africa. Two species in Taiwan.
