Leaves unequal paired; blade of major leaf ovate, elliptic to ovate-lanceolate, 3-7 cm long, 2.5-7.5 cm wide, apically acuminate or acute, basally cuneate, rounded or cordate, sparingly pubescent or glabrate; petiole 0.8-3 cm long; minor leaf 2-4.5 long, 1.2-2.8 cm wide; petiole 2-3 mm long. Inflorescence 1- (or 2)-flowered fascicles; pedicel 0.8-1 cm long. Flower with calyx cupular or campanulate, 7 mm long, 10-veined; corolla white, pink, or pale purple, stellate, 1.8 cm across, the lobes lanceolate, 3-4 mm long, often reflexed; filaments 1 mm long, anthers 3-3.5 mm long.
