Subshrubs, 8-25(-30) cm tall, sericeous tomentose or glabrescent. Petiole of basal and middle cauline leaves 0.5-2 cm or more long, blade oblong or elliptic, 2-4×1-2 cm, upper surface sparsely sericeous tomentose, lower surface densely white tomentose, 2-pinnatisect, segments 3 or 4 pairs, 3-lobed, lobes linear or linear-lanceolate, 5-20(-30)×0.5-1(-2) mm; uppermost leaves 3-lobed, bracts linear-lanceolate or linear. Inflorescences racemose-paniculate, lax. Heads semiglobose or broadly ovoid, 4-4.5 mm in diam., peduncle 2-20 mm long, involucral bracts sparsely tomentose. Outer florets 8-12. Central florets 18-25. Achenes obovoid. Fl. and fr. Jul-Nov.

Endemic; on high mountains, 2,700-3,300 m, in sunny, dry, rocky situations.
