Malaxis cespitosa Thouars
Epiphytic herbs ca. 10-15 cm tall. Pseudobulbs tufted, obliquely globose, often laterally compressed, 1-1.5 cm long, base surrounded by 1 or 2 sheaths. Leaf 1, erect, thin coriaceous, linear or oblan-ceolate-linear, 10-15 cm long, 1 cm wide, apex acute, base decurrent. Peduncle, erect, compressed, flowering portion of inflorescence 5-10 cm long; bracts linear, 8 mm long; pedicel and ovary 6 mm long, +/- verrucose. Flowers 5-15, yellowish green, slightly tinged with orange, ca. 8 mm in diam.; dorsal sepal oblong, 5.5 mm long, 1, 5 mm wide, 1-nerved, strongly revolute; lateral sepals similar to dorsal, wider and slightly oblique, reflexed; petals linear, 5 mm long; lip oblong or nearly rectangular, 4.5-5 mm long, 2 mm wide, bent downward from middle, apex rounded, slightly denticulate, base thickened, cuneate; basal disc somewhat raised, without protruding callus; column arcuate, 2.5 mm long, pale green, with triangular wings at apex; anther nearly orbicular, 0.5 mm in diam.; pollinia 0.4 mm long. Capsules ellipsoid, 8 mm long, pedicel 3 mm long.
