Yoania squamipes (Fukuy.) Masam.
Plants ca. 20-25 cm long. Rhizomes terete, more than 10 cm long, 8-10 mm in diam., enclosed by sheaths at nodes, with many short branches, branches 1-4 cm long. Inflorescence 5-20 cm long, with few to more than 10 flowers; peduncle with scale-like sheaths near base; bracts ovate-triangular, ca. 8 mm long, pedicel and ovary 6-9 cm long, glabrous. Flowers pink to red, fleshy, ca. 4.5 cm in diam. when expanded; dorsal sepal elliptic, 2.2-2.8 cm long, 1.2-1.4 cm wide, obtuse to rounded at apex; 7nerved; lateral sepals oblong, 2.5-2.8 cm long, 1.1-1.3 cm wide, obtuse, slightly oblique; petals connivent, oblong, 2.1 cm long, 1 cm wide, 7-nerved; lip consisting of large forward-extending saccate spur and narrow limb above, ca. 2 cm long, 1.3 cm tall, spur pale yellow, apex rounded, limb with incurved lateral lobes merging into 2 oblong calli near apex, with pointed callus between them and protruding at apex of limb; column 8-10 mm tall, with 2 erect acute processes at apex; anther ovate, 4 mm long, long beak curved downwards; pollinia 4, 2 compressed ovoid pairs, attached to crescent viscidium. Capsules cylindric, 5 cm long.
