Liparis shaoshunia S. S. Ying
Terrestrial herbs. Stems cylindrical, fleshy, 10-20 cm long, 0.6-1.5 cm in diam., surrounded by several sheaths at base. Leaves 3-5, elliptic-ovate to ovate-lanceolate, 5-15 cm long, 3-6 cm wide, membranaceous, slightly oblique. Peduncle and rachis yellowish or purplish, 15-30 cm long, with 5 twisted ridges; bract minute, triangular, 2-4 mm long, reflexed; pedicel and ovary 12-17 mm long, with 6 sharp ridges. Flowers 5-20, perianth widely spreading, purplish red; dorsal sepal linear-oblong, revolute, 1015 mm long, 2-2.5 mm wide, obtuse at apex, with 3 pale veins; lateral sepals falcate-oblong, 8-12 mm long, 2, 5-3 mm wide, acute or obtuse at apex, reflexed or twisted; petals linear, 10-13 mm long, 1 mm wide, revolute; lip pale green, later turning purple, obovate, 9-15 mm long, 7-10 mm wide, base cuneate, slightly curved downward forming a smooth arch from middle, apex rounded, minutely denticulate, disc slightly depressed longitudinally, with 2 horn-like calli at base; column reddish, 5-6 mm long, slightly winged at apex; anther whitish, orbicular-ovate, 1.2 mm long; pollinia obliquely ovate, 1 mm long. Capsule ellipsoid, ca. 2 cm long, pedicel ca. 1 cm long. Seeds obliquely fusiform, 0.7-0.8 mm long.

Endemic, forests at low elevations on the Hengchun Peninsula.
