    Stems 50-85 cm long, branching apically, puberulous. Cauline leaves 3 or 4, remotely arranged, lowest one thick, peltate, rounded, 12-16 cm across, upper surface green, lower surface glaucous, sparsely pilose on both surfaces, 5-7-partite, segments obovate, deeply bifid, smaller segments lanceolate, 1-1.5 cm broad, apex acute, margins remotely incised; petiole 4-5 cm long; upper leaves gradually smaller, palmatisect or trifid, becoming bract-like and linear-lanceolate. Inflorescence paniculate. Heads congested, 10×6-8 mm; peduncle 1-4 mm long, with 3 linear bractlets, bractlets 3-4 mm long. Involucre tubular, 8.5×5-7 mm, bracts 5, in 1 series, oblong, 8.5×2-3 mm, thick, obtuse. Florets 6-8; corolla 8-9 mm long, 5-lobed. Pappus 7-8 mm long, white, bristles unequal.

    Endemic; grassy slopes and semishaded forest floors, 1,700-2,800 m in central Taiwan.
