Gnaphalium luteoalbum subsp. luteoalbum

Perennial erect herbs, somewhat woody at base. Stems terete, 1.2-2 mm thick, unbranched or branched from base and in upper part, 10-50 cm tall, appressed whitish woolly. Upper leaves lanceolate or lanceolate-spatulate, lower ones spatulate, base somewhat broadened and truncate, apex acute to obtuse, 1-5.5×0.1-0.5 cm, 1-nerved, upper surface thinly appressed whitish woolly, lower surface densely so. Heads subsessile or short pedunculate, campanulate, 10 or more in dense or branched terminal corymbs. Involucre pale brown, 3×3-4 mm, in 3 series, outer involucral bracts ovate, acute, ca. 2 mm long, inner ones oblong, obtuse, ca. 3 mm long. Outer florets many, corolla 2-2.5 mm long; central florets 4-7(-10), corolla 2-2.5 mm long. Achenes brown, oblong, ca. 0.5 mm long, glabrous; pappus ca. 2 mm long, deciduous.

Widely distributed in Europe, Africa, North America, the Pacific and central and southeastern Asia. Taiwan, exposed fields, roadsides, 1,000 to 3,200 m.
