Note: Alternate name: Leguminosae. Includes Mimosaceae, Caesalpiniaceae & Papilionaceae.
This treatment draws largely on the excellent Monograph on Malagasy Legumes by Du Puy, D. J., et al. (2002), but provides additional distributional data, and includes subsequent taxonomic changes and additions in Dalbergia, Dupuya, Gigasiphon, Mimosa & Stuhlmannia. Bobgunnia madagascariensis J.H. Kirkbr. & Wiersema (syn. Swatzia madagascariensis) is excluded is a weidespread African sp. that was almost certainly recorded in error from Madagascar.
