Note: Currently under revision by N. Snow (BISH). Taxa of uncertain systematic position (according to Labat & Schatz in Novon 12: 201-205. 2002): Eugenia tanalensis Baker, E. cotinifolioides H. Perrier, E. cupulifera H. Perrier, E. goudotiana H. Perrier). In Fl. Madagasc. 2 spp treated in Myrtus and Syzygium are now included in Eugenia.
