Lagrezia madagascariensis (Poir.) Moq.
    Prodr. 13: 252 (1849).

  • Celosia madagascariensis Poir.

    Distribution: Endemic to Madagascar

Note: The name Celosia phytolaccifolia exists as a manuscript name on a Commerson collection (probably an IT of L. madagascariensis) in P-JUSS, it was first published as a synonym of the current species by Moquin in DC. Prodr., it has never been validly published as an accepted species. The name Bojer. is a nomen nudum, that has never been validly published, although it has been placed as a synonym of the current species, but in fact Bojer's specimen did not come from Madagascar, and is probably a specimen of L. oligomeroides from Aldabra.
