Endemic genus of the Caucasus; two species.

Asteraceae (Compositae)

Both species are best suited to sunny, dry stone walls and rock gardens, where their bright silver mats are effective groundcovers. Can also be used in flower beds, on slopes. Unfortunately not entirely winter-hardy in zone 4, nor in moist places in zone 5.
