Senecio cannabifolius Less.
Flowering stems up to 150-200 cm. Rhizome short, with numerous roots. Stem leaves 8-12 cm x 1-5 cm, almost sessile, pinnatisect with 2-3 pairs of lobs, tapered towards the base. Flower heads long-pedunculate, in a loose paniculiform corymb. Ray flowers 5, yellow. V - mid-spring to late autumn. Fl - in the wild and in St. Petersburg mid-summer, usually July. Fr - September. P - by division and by seed. Requires a sunny position and moist soil. Can create a herbaceous thicket as stems reach 250 cm in cultivation. Z 4 (3). New.
Siberia (southeastern regions), Far East, China and Japan. Among shrubs, in meadows, in tall grass clearings.
