Flowers single, fragrant or not.

Valleys; 500--1500 m. Gansu, Guizhou, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan.

Rosa banksiae var. normalis f. lutescens Voss (Blumengart. 1: 49. 1896) has yellow, non-fragrant flowers.
