Herbs, perennial, 15-25 cm tall, branched apically, gray pubescent. Lower and middle stem leaves ± sessile; leaf blade oblong or oblong-ovate, 1.5-2(-2.5) × 0.5-1.5 cm, pinnatisect; segments 2 or 3 pairs in lowermost leaves and 1 or 2 pairs in middle leaves, linear or linear-lanceolate, 3-5(-8) × 0.5-1.5 mm. Uppermost leaves and leaflike bracts 3-sect or entire. Synflorescence a narrow panicle. Involucre semi-globose or subglobose, 2.5(-3) mm in diam. Marginal female florets 3-7. Disk florets 5-10, male. Achenes obovoid. Fl. and fr. Jun-Oct.
