Plants to 20(--22) cm tall. Branches erect. Inflorescences to 12 cm, fascicles numerous, widely spaced below; bracts and calyx usually glabrous except for ciliate margins and apices. Capsule long, narrow, ca. 2.1 cm X 6 mm, apex acuminate. Fl. May--Sep.
