短茎灯心草 duan jing deng xin cao

Plants perennial, 1.5--5 cm tall. Stems thin. Leaves basal; leaf sheath whitish to dark brownish, 5--8 mm, auricles well developed, obtuse; leaf blade linear, 0.6--2.5 cm × ca. 0.3 mm, apex obtuse. Inflorescences terminal; head solitary, hemispheric, (1 or)2-flowered; bracts 2 or 3, chestnut brown, membranous; basal bracts ovate-lanceolate, 4.5--5.5 × ca. 2 mm, apex elongate; other bracts ovate, shorter, apex obtuse. Perianth segments chestnut brown, oblong-lanceolate, 3.5--4 × ca. 1 mm, subequal, apex obtuse. Stamens 6; filaments dark brown, 5.5--6.5 mm; anthers 1.5--2 mm. Ovary ovoid. Style ca. 1.2 mm; stigmas ca. 0.5 mm. Capsule (immature) dark brown, trigonous ovoid, ca. 3 mm, 1-loculed, apex obtuse and mucronate.

Mountainous and calcareous regions; 4400--4600 m. Sichuan, Xizang [Sikkim].
