Pseudostems 25--55 cm, base globose, with 1 or 2 bladeless leaves. Leaves 4 or 5; petiole 0.5--7 cm; leaf blade 8--20 × 4--5 cm, adaxially glabrescent, abaxially pubescent, base subrounded, acute, or attenuate, apex acuminate. Bracts 7--13 cm, 1- or 2-flowered. Corolla tube ca. 2 × as long as calyx; central lobe ca. 2 × as wide as narrowly lanceolate lateral lobes. Capsule ca. 1 cm in diam. Fl. Sep--Nov. 2 n = 42*.
