Herbs perennial. Stems 8--20(--26) cm, spreading brownish hispid, few branched or simple. Basal leaves ca. 3; petiole 1.4--7(--10) cm, hispid; blade 3-partite, reniform-pentagonal, 1--1.8 (--2.5) × 1.2--2.8(--4) cm, papery, brownish hispid, base subcordate, central lobe broadly rhombic or obtrapeziform-rhombic, 3-lobed or 3-dentate; lateral lobes obliquely flabellate, unequally 2-lobed, few dentate. Stem leaves similar to basal leaves, uppermost sometimes sessile, 3-sect, segments sublinear. Monochasium 1--3-flowered. Flowers 0.5--0.9 cm in diam. Pedicel 1.5--3 cm, strigose. Receptacle glabrous. Sepals 5, ovate or broadly elliptic, 2.6--3.5 mm, abaxially hispid. Petals 5(--10), narrowly or broadly obovate, 2.2--5 × 1.6--2.2 mm, nectary pit covered by a scale, apex rounded. Stamens 15--17; anthers broadly ellipsoid. Aggregate fruit ovoid or subglobose, 3--4 × 2--3 mm. Achene obliquely obovoid, 1.3--1.8 × 1.2--1.6 mm, glabrous; style persistent, 0.3--0.6 mm. Fl. and fr. Jul--Aug.
