Leaf blade papery to thickly papery, 2–3(–5) mm wide. Panicle open, 6–12 × 6–8 cm; lemmas glabrous between veins; palea keels scabrid, sometimes medially sparsely pilulose. Fl. and fr. Jun–Jul.
Alpine grassy places; ca. 3000 m. Xinjiang [Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, NW Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan].
