Aongstroemia uncinifolia (Broth.) Broth., Nat. Pflanzenfam. ed. 2, 10: 179. 1924. Anomobryum uncinifolium Broth., Philippine J. Sci. 5: 146. 1909.

Plants small, 4–7 mm high, somewhat shiny, yellow to yellowish brown, in loose tufts. Stems slender, julaceous, erect or ascending, simple or branched; central strand present. Leaves oval to oblong, clasping at base, 0.3–0.5 mm × 0.2–0.4 mm, broadly acute, sharply bent to one side at the tips; margins serrulate above, entire below; costa strong, percurrent or ending near the apex; upper cells rounded-quadrate to hexagonal, thick-walled, 6–9 µm × 5–7 µm; lower cells rectangular, 8–13 µm × 5–8 µm. Dioicous. Perichaetial leaves larger than the vegetative leaves, abruptly subulate. Setae straight, yellowish, 6–7 mm long; capsules erect, oblong-cylindric, 1.0–1.2 mm long; peristome teeth absent; annuli well developed, in 2 rows of large, thin-walled cells; opercula long-rostrate. Calyptrae cucullate. Spores 9–11 µm in diameter.

Habitat: on soil and rocks in alpine areas; Distribtuion: China, Himalayas, India, Myanmar, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, Russia (Siberia), Mexico, Central and South America.
