柔叶白锦藓

Plants slender, rather large, up to 5 cm high, pale green to yellowish green, in loose tufts. Stems erect or arcuately ascending, branched; central strand absent. Leaves widely erect-spreading when moist, slightly flexuose, usually falcate-secund when dry, deciduous; margins involute above, bordered by a single row of linear cells near the apex, 10–15 rows at the middle, up to 20 rows near the base; costa narrow, long-excurrent, scabrid at the apex; median cells subquadrate to rounded-rectangular, 5–7 µm x 3–4 µm, minutely papillose; basal cells rectangular, 13–20 µm x 3–4 µm, smooth; alar cells quadrate to short-rectangular, brownish, thick-walled. Dioicous. Perichaetial leaves sheathing at base, abruptly subulate above. Setae 2–3 mm long, only extending beyond the perichaetial leaves. Mature capsules not seen.

Habitat: on tree trunks; Distribution: China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
