Plants slender, up to 2 cm high, yellowish green above, dull green below, in compact tufts. Stems erect, simple or branched, radiculose at base. Leaves flexuose or crispate when dry, erect-spreading when moist, up to 1.5 mm long, oblong-lanceolate to linear-lanceolate from an erect, somewhat keeled base, narrowly obtuse at the apex; margins slightly incurved below, serrulate near the apex; costa strong, narrow, percurrent, sometimes roughened or papillose at back above; upper leaf cells small, rounded-hexagonal, thick-walled, mammillose on both surfaces; lower cells rectangular, thin-walled, hyaline; alar cells not differentiated. Autoicous. Perichaetial leaves not differentiated. Setae straight, ca. 8 mm long, slender, yellowish; capsules erect, cylindric, exothecial cells thick-walled. Spores not seen.
Type. China: Sichuan (Setschwan), Yan-yuan Co., Handel-Mazzetti 2640 (holotype H).
