Leaves petiolate, 2-3-pinnate; segments linear to oval. Involucre of pinnate bracts or lacking. Rays numerous, compact. Involucel of entire or divided bractlets. Calyx teeth evident or obsolete. Petals white to purplish or yellow. Fruit ellipsoid to ovoid, dorsally compressed; primary ridges thin, secondary winged with bristles or spines; furrows 1-vittate; commissure 2-vittate. Inner seed face plane to slightly concave.
A cosmopolitan genus of 60 species.
